Project Engineer, Environmental
Location: United States
The Project Engineer, Environmental is responsible for identifying, tracking and reporting on the current condition of projects this includes conducting field assessments, including sample collection, and testing; quality control inspections; performs contract administration to general industry and/or client standards. Travel: 100%
Essential Duties and Responsibilites
• |
Conduct comprehensive and accurate assessments to identify the potential for, or to determine the existence and/or extent of, environmental and/or construction issues. |
• |
Collect water, soil and air samples as appropriate. |
• |
Identify, track and report project cost accurately. |
• |
Document project progress through quality control inspections, field logs, photographs, records of communication, meeting minutes, etc. |
• |
Aggressively pursue project completion milestones and cost control. |
• |
Provide cost estimates and analysis based on collected data to evaluate cost to complete. |
• |
Perform contract administration including client and subcontract invoices, change orders, modifications, etc. |
• |
Participate in all phases of project from initiation through completion, including client follow-up activities. |
• |
Ensure project reports meet client and company standards for quality. |
• |
Maintain organized project files, electronically and hard copies. |
• |
Other duties as assigned. |
Qualifications
• |
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in civil or environmental engineering, environmental science, geology, chemistry or related science. |
• |
Advanced degree and/or license (PE) a plus. |
• |
1+ years environmental engineering experience. |
• |
Additional training or experience in heavy civil construction management, environmental remediation, and developing cost estimates and CPM schedules highly desirable. |
• |
OSHA 40-Hour and USACE CQC training preferred |
• |
Must be proficient in computer skills. |
• |
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. |
• |
Commitment to building client relationships and satisfaction. |

This position requires extensive travel by foot, automobile, and airlines. This position also requires working in the outdoor environment subject to weather extremes and rough terrain.
