PRI Completes Repair of Runway at Shindand Airbase in Afghanistan

Project Resources, Inc. (PRI) completed the construction of a 9140 ft PCC concrete runway for the Shindand Airbase located in Herat Province, Afghanistan. PRI applied innovated construction approaches to complete the project ahead of schedule in only 9 months. PRI was responsible for the design and construction of the airfield which required the placing of an engineered fill base and 76,000 square meters of concrete pavement.
PRI is a prime contractor for the Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE) in Afghanistan under the $10 billion Heavy Engineering Repair and Construction (HERC) contract.
