PRI FEMA playground volunteers make a difference

Slidell, Louisiana — October 21st was a cold and foggy Saturday morning as 25 PRI/DJI volunteers from the FEMA Slidell maintenance site assembled at the St. Tammany Parish “Kids Konnection” playground. The 3 acre “Boundless Playground” incorporates a variety of play stations for children and adults to build cognitive, social, motor, and sensory skills while addressing heightened safety concerns related to individuals with special needs. The volunteers dug holes, constructed equipment framing, and assembled the playground components.

Additionally, a Customer Service Center was set-up to accept maintenance requests, update work order statuses, and to provide information to FEMA occupants on PRI/DJI’s ongoing Travel Trailer (TTs) and Manufactured Homes (MHs) maintenance contract for the city of Slidell, LA and the surrounding St. Tammarny Parish.
